The Texican is a fictional account of one man’s experiences during the middle to late 19th century in Texas. Honks Pickens decided to kill two Apache who stole his cattle, an ill-advised decision that led to the Indians killing his family and a series of tit-for-tat vengeful killings that would last for years.
Honks Pickens was a soldier in the Mexican-American War, range detective, bounty hunter, Indian fighter, Army scout, Texas Ranger, and U.S. Marshal. He embodied the spirit of the rough and tumble life on the western frontier.
